Bone Poets Orchestra string sectionJune 17th was the latest in string section recording sessions for the upcoming Bone Poets Orchestra album “Ecstasy in the Ruins”. We recorded string parts for “Diggin’ In”, “Strange World”, and “Seven Sisters”, and then I did my vocal parts for “Sisters” as well.

Friend of the band Terisa Greenan was there to capture all the fun, and made some amazing behind-the-scenes music videos from the day.

We always love working with Jay at AudioLogic, and not just because he’s our rockin’ keyboard player. He’s also a fantastic (and Emmy-winning) recording engineer–really easy to work with, very efficient, and talented. See Jay for all of your studio recording needs!

I haven’t had the opportunity to record vocals very often, but I hope I can do more in the future. I really love singing and don’t get to do it as much as I like on stage. Plus this piece (Seven Sisters) has some juicy harmonies that I can really sink my teeth into. It wouldn’t be a stretch to say it’s my new favorite BPO song (though this whole album is going to be great).

More recording to come soon, I hope–if you like what we’re doing and want to help out, check out the band’s Adopt-A-Song page. We want to make more music for you!
